Obasi Enterprises, LLC is a residential real estate development company that also delivers services related to that marketplace. The services include: installation of ceramic and wood floors, landscapes and hardscapes. In addition, Obasi provides consulting services in the areas of construction and renovation management and land acquisition.
Our development mission is “to provide superior residential housing in urban markets, while being creative and innovative in the process, at all times guided by integrity, fun and fair play, and through development and philanthropy, make our community ‘more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.' ”
Obasi began its development operations in 2005 by buying and renovating existing properties. Obasi has nearly completed its deliberate transition to a company whose portfolio consists of 75% new construction homes and 25% renovated homes, with the renovations being those that have synergy with our new construction projects. Cheryl D. Walker, President & General Counsel
Prior to transitioning to full time status with Obasi, Cheryl practiced law with Bryan Cave LLP, an international law firm, in the areas of business finance and entrepreneurial, technology and commercial practice. Her clients included real estate developers, construction managers, contractors, consulting firms, lending institutions and other business concerns. Cheryl continues to serve as Of Counsel with Bryan Cave LLP. Cheryl received her law degree from Washington University School of Law in 1990 and her electrical engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1986. Ms. Walker is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.
Cheryl is an active community volunteer as exemplified through her service as a member of the Board of Curators of the University of Missouri System, where she is Chair. She also serves on the Board of Commissioners of Tower Grove Park and the Board of Directors of The United Way of Greater St. Louis, St. Louis Social Venture Partners, an initiative of the St. Louis Regional Business Council, March of Dimes Greater St. Louis Division, The Cedric the Entertainer Foundation and The Newberry Group.
Her recent honors and accomplishments include: St. Louis Business Journal Most Influiential Minority Business Leader (2007), induction into the University of Missouri-Rolla Women’s Hall of Fame (2005), graduate of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Construction Leadership Institute (2005), recipient of the Coro Leadership Center’s Emerging Leader Award (2004), participation in Leadership St. Louis, sponsored by Focus St. Louis (2001-2002) and recognition by the St. Louis Business Journal as one of St. Louis’ top 40 under 40 (2002).
Thomas E. Walker, Chief Executive Officer
Thomas E. Walker, has over 6 years experience performing flooring, landscaping and related services. Thomas received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Maryville University, with a minor in information technology.
Thomas’ flooring and landscaping skills are an added bonus to each Obasi project, as well as any third party project Obasi is involved with. Thomas’ 10 years of project management experience and related certifications are vital components to our flooring and landscaping delivery systems and provide a valuable competitive edge. Thomas gives back to the community via his service on the Boards of the Marquette YMCA, and Haven of Grace. He also served as a volunteer information technology instructor for Community Women against Hardship.
